Vision

Tea for 2 wants everyone to have the opportunity to live an independent, enjoyable life filled with dignity regardless of perceived economic or social barriers.

It all started with Ranu and Zaman’s father, Abu T. Khan, showing them that caring for others is one of the most rewarding and selfless act a person can do.

Mission

To develop programs that maximize the human potential and supporting resources to elevate individuals out of poverty and provide them financial and social freedom. To implement policies that provide educational training, awareness of the environmental concerns; encourage human capital development; provide basic health and housing needs; teach financial responsibility, social responsibility, family planning, and continued personal growth.

Our Plan

Tea for 2 is a nonprofit organization providing self-employment opportunities and clinical assistance to rural location in Bangladesh. Our program goal is to make vocational education available to rural populations, and then provide financing so that each person can develop a self-employment opportunity that creates sustainment for their families. A supplemental goal is to ensure the health of individuals in rural Bangladesh by providing clinical support for basic health needs. Our program is designed to provide an on-ramp for the poor and an off-ramp for those that are successfully self-employed and have completed their financing program. We want to stop the cycle of younger adults leaving the rural areas and going to densely populated cities, including overseas, to find work that is not sustainable for basic needs or basic human dignity. The departure of younger adults leaving the rural area without skills creates a cascading affect on family members, younger and older, both financially and socially.

Our team will identify opportunities where self-employment is a sustainable pathway to financial and social freedom. These opportunities will be developed into programs. Each program will consist of vocational education/training, financial literacy, financing, monitoring, and assessment for continuous program improvement.

Clinical health support will focus on preventive programs such as vaccination, health education, and field administrable medical support. Tea for 2 will work with local health practitioners to ensure the safe dispensing of prescription medication, and perform field administrable tasks such as first aid for small cuts, bruises, and other nonlife-threatening medical needs. Our team will provide transportation to hospitals or advanced health clinics if the health need is beyond the basic scope that we can provide.

Tea for 2 will leverage all resources available, including partnering with other organizations, grant programs, private donations, and fund-raising events. We will focus on volunteers for many of our programs, supported by paid local resources that can implement and monitor the programs. Initially, the founders of Tea for 2 will provide the capital on an on-going basis until external funding becomes a reliable source for operations and financing.

Success will be measured through metrics, self-assessment, and peer reviews of our assessments. This will ensure program efficiency and success. We look forward to success based on each family that has successfully completed the program, and their enjoyment of an independent life.

We strive to maintain complete transparency and accountability of our finance, operations, and programs to the general public.

Our charter must address integrity and trustworthiness. These values will ensure those being helped are receiving resources and information in the most transparent method possible, while ensuring that personal and confidential information of those being helped are kept safe.

Respect & Fairness
Tea for 2 will respect the laws of each nation and region, the charters of each Non-Government Organization (NGO) we work with, and provide full respect to each of those individuals that we set out to assist. Tea for 2 does not want to close the door on any individual that seeks our support.

Our goal is to increase individuals’ sense of self-worth and provide the foundation for a self-sustaining capability. Tea for 2 will approach all programs with an open mind. We will work with all stakeholders (those being helped, the Government and non-government organizations) to identify new, more effective methods of accomplishing our goal.

Accountability & Responsibility
Every resource (monetary and voluntary) that Tea for 2 puts into programs must directly support program success. Our leadership will be held accountable to ensure all funds and volunteer efforts support program goals. Tea for 2 will perform frequent audits and reviews of programs to gain lessons learned and build on success and improve on failures.

Commitment to Success
Tea for 2 is absolutely committed to the success of each developed program. Success breeds success, and makes the globalization of programs more of a reality. These core values will ensure resources and donations into the organization.
